CREATE VIRTUAL MACHINE AND INSTALL ORACLE LINUX Step by Step

Hello All,

In this blog Post we will talk about creation of vm machine and install Oracle Linux 8.2 on vm machine.

Lets get started,

                                  Step 1 ) Will start with the new creation of virtual machine 


Step 2 ) Check i will install the operating system Later and click next



                                            Step 3) Choose the Operating system Type and version



                                          Step 4 ) Provide name and path for the virtual machine 


Step 5) Provide the max disk size to the Vm machine


Step 6 ) Click on customize hardware

Step 7 ) Increase the Memory to 3 GB and provide the CD/DVD Location 



Step 8 ) Now our virtual machine is ready, Click on Finish button 


Step 9 ) Interface you will receive after Vm creation (Power On the vm now)


Step 10)  Now we will start with the installation of Oracle Linux 8.2 


Step 11)  Press esc to skip the check not mandatory will save time 


Step 12) No change on this page press continue


Step 13 ) Click on Server Selection Keep it server with GUI


Step 14 )  Check and click on the options you need to install  and press done 


Step 15 ) Now click on Installation destination on main screen


Step 16 ) Click on + sign and add the partitions needed



Step 17) List of Mount point to be created

Mandatory : 
i) /
       ii) /boot
         iii) /swap  
    iv) /var
     v) /opt
     vi) /usr
      vii) /tmp
                      viii) /oracle or /u01

                  and click on  done


Step 18 )  Click Accept Changes


Step 19 )  Provide the Host name for the server machine


Step 20 ) Now Click on Region setting tab and select India (Asia / Kolkata)


Step 21 ) Begin the Installation and Provide Password for root user and create new user E.g User1



Step 22 ) Now wait for the installation to complete


Step 23 ) Click on reboot 


Step 24 )  Accept the license


Step 25 ) Bang on Ready to login & First impression (Click on Activities to get the command prompt)
